Preface: When I have written narratives in school they have made me feel confused, whenever I have had to write narratives, I never know what topic to write about. I end up getting nervous wondering if it's even interesting or not, if it's even gonna reel my teacher in. Telling my own story is hard because I usually forget about certain details in between, the little stuff, or it just ends up sounding weird. I did enjoy adding the important details, I love writing narratives that'll make the reader feel some sort of emotion.
For this memoir narrative project I decided to write about the journey of finding out I have a half sister. To begin my process of writing the memoir I first composed A Letter to my Author-Self, which helped me become able to distinguish my goals for writing in this class and partly writing my memoir: I wanted it to be about a happy moment in my life, next the Writing Process Roundtable was able to strengthen my creativity and writing skills. Composing an Emotional Scene with Dialogue and Symbolism helped me to start the process of story telling, specifically personal story telling.
